Year round program

Making an impact to our local community.

youth & Government

High school students practice democracy and compromise as they learn to engage in Civic Discourse in this state-wide program run with other YMCAs of NH.

LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS
LOCAL DELEGATES

In 2020, through a grant from NH Empower Youth Program, we launched an alumni based virtual tutoring program. The mission of the new program is to give students the additional support that they need to succeed. The program utilized Coniston summer staff members who are recent college students, and Coniston alumni who are teachers, to engage students with their studies and help them in areas where they struggle. Tutors meet 1:1 with a student virtually once a week to provide help with one or more academic subjects and/or test preparation in an effort to support academic success.

If interested in receiving services, becoming a tutor, or just to learn additional information feel free to reach out to tutors@coniston.org.

camp winning spirit

YMCA Camp Coniston has hosted Camp Winning Spirit, for families affected by pediatric cancer, since 1996. In the decades since, it has grown into an immensely impactful program for both the organizations and the participating families

community programs

During the fall and spring various local community groups enjoy the Coniston facility free of charge.

SCHOOL GROUPS

Students who live along I-89 from exit 9 to the Vermont border get to experience the Coniston facility with their local school. In the fall and spring, 5th graders visit for day programs which include fishing, orienteering, and ecology. While 7th & 8th graders spend the night and experience a more intensive team-building program.

NEW ENGLAND K-9 SEARCH & RESCUE

Over the past decade, during the fall and spring, our facility is open to  New England K-9 Search and Rescue so they can use our entire property to practice with their dogs.

CROYDON DAY

Since 2003, Croydon residents meet at camp for a day of games, feasting, and outdoor activities, including the legendary tug-of-war match between Croydon Flats and Croydon Village. The festivities are wrapped up with a tremendous fireworks display!

OTHER COMMUNITY GROUPS

ATA MARTIAL ARTS hosts a weekend for children and parents to try new things, build confidence, and honing their martial arts skills.

LOCAL CHURCH GROUPS  across denominations utilize Camp’s facilities for team-building events and services.

Student leaders from COLBY-SAWYER COLLEGE borrow the camp facility for an afternoon of team-building and training.

Coniston community days

During a summer when YMCA Camp Coniston closed for normal operations due to COVID-19, we created a new family day camp program. Through a generous gift, families have had the opportunity to gather at Camp rediscovering a sense of normalcy, joy, and connection all free of charge. We hope you enjoy some of the photos taken from the summer.
